This Gibson SG Supreme Bass is a rare and distinctive Made-in-USA short-scale bass that combines the classic double-cutaway SG bass body shape with premium tone-woods and appointments, while the limited production run and distinctive flame maple top makes this one of the more collectible contemporary Gibson basses. This example dates to 2007, a Gibson  limited-run ‘Guitar Of The Week’ series at that time. Having come from a collection rather than ‘on the road’, the overall condition is ‘Excellent’, bordering on ‘Mint’.  The carved flamed-Maple-over-Mahogany body with the dark Rosewood fretboard and trapezoid inlays are both luxurious and beautifully smooth in-hand, while the 30.5-inch  scale provides an accessible and comfortable playing experience.  Tonally, the SG Supreme Bass is known for its surprisingly versatile pickup combination: the T-Bird humbucking neck pickup and Mini-humbucker at the bridge deliver everything from deep vintage thump to articulate modern tones. In addition to ease of playability, the 30.5″ scale gives a slightly softer attack and thicker fundamental note than a traditional 34-inch scale, well suited to a variety of classic rock, blues, roots, and vintage-inspired styles. Comes with its original Gibson had case and all case paperwork and accessories.
