2017 Gibson SG Standard

2017 is a great year for SG Standards: Gibson’s iconic double-cutaway solid-body design combining classic SG looks with a number of contemporary upgrades. Featuring a lightweight all-mahogany body, SlimTaper mahogany neck, Rosewood fretboard, and a pair of ’57 Classic humbuckers, it delivers the punchy midrange, sustain and aggressive bite that have made the SG a players’ favourite  for more than six decades.  Notable 2017 features include locking Grover tuners, the small vintage-style teardrop pickguard,  Tune-o-Matic bridge with aluminium stopbar tailpiece, and a Plek-processed fingerboard for enhanced playability and setup accuracy. The two ’57 Classic humbucker pickups provide vintage PAF-inspired tones ranging from warm blues and classic rock to heavier overdriven sounds. In summary, tan outstanding modern SG, blending vintage-inspired aesthetics and PAF-style tone with practical modern enhancements. This one is lightweight, resonant and exceptionally comfortable to play. From a private collection, it is near-mint throughout, with its original case and all accessories, rare to find in such excellent condition.
