From the family of the owner who acquired this National Silver Tenor guitar in the 1940s, all original from the banjo style headstock and tuners (National Tenor Guitars went to a more standard guitar style headstock later in the 1930s) to the tailpiece. A great feeling neck, neck set and action, frets in good condition on the smooth Evony fretboard , huge volume from the original cone, no rattles or other setup issues. The cone is the original spiral impressed aluminum. From the earliest period of National’s guitar -shaped (rather than pear-shaped) Tenor guitars. A fabulous historic yet functional instrument with signifcant tone and volume, that can be tuned banjo style, mando style or in other variations – currently Uke tuning GCEA. Come with a 1960s style hard case.
