Policies

1 – Pricing

CVG will research and advise clients of the value of their instrument and listings will be at an agreed price. Variations in final evaluations are acceptable and can be negotiated with CVG. Ultimately the market will set the price.

CVG Consignment Agreement will be drawn up containing the detail of the instrument, provenance, confirmation of ownership and an agreed price. Once signed this is a legal contract for 90 days (or agreed extensions thereof) in which the owner requests CVG to advertise, sell and disperse payment of the consigned item, within 30 days of a sale.

Sales commission is a flat fee of 20% + GST = 22% of the sale price and is retained by CVG when the sale has been completed.

2 – Consignment Policy

Capital Vintage Guitars (CVG) lists instruments that are either for sale or consigned for sale. Listings are free and are by exclusive contract to CVG for 90 days. This can be extended.

Instruments are held in a secure premises and are well cared for.

Important: Instrument Insurance is the responsibility of the owner, not CVG.

Important: If an instrument under contract to CVG is listed elsewhere, we may decline to continue to list, carry or sell your instrument and will remove it from the website.

3 – Payments

Payment preference for purchases is by direct bank deposit (EFT – Electronic Funds Transfer). Credit cards or bank cheque are acceptable by agreement.

We also accept Layby under terms set out in Australian Consumer Law.  A 25% non-refundable deposit is required and full payment must be completed within 90 days.

All sales are final on layby purchases. No returns, no refunds and no approval period on laybys.

All prices are in Australian dollars.

4 – Amp Sales Policy

All used amp sales are final, no returns and no exceptions.

5 – Shipping

CVG will pack products for shipping and book a courier with or without insurance at the buyer’s discretion.  CVG takes no responsibility for the goods once they are picked up for shipping. Any insurance claims or disputes with couriers are the responsibility of the buyer.

Shipping costs quoted by individual sales.

The total shipping quote will include shipping costs, packing, time and materials. 

The customer pays all shipping, insurance and any bank charges, including for any returned merchandise.

We reserve the right not to ship some specific goods. Please call to discuss your requirements.

We ship outside Australia but require upfront payment by bank transfer or credit card only. Goods will not be dispatched until funds are cleared. Please email us for specific international shipping rates.

6 – Hold Policy

CVG will hold instruments for 24 hours prior to deposit. When an instrument is placed on hold, it is reserved for the purchaser exclusively and withdrawn from the market. CVG expects that a hold request is a commitment to purchase.  All holds will automatically expire after 24 hours.

7 – Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. This notice applies to all information collected by or submitted to the CVG website. Any personal information collected from you will not be supplied to or shared with any other entity without permission.

8 – Description / Condition Policy

The opinions of condition expressed in the product descriptions are a guide only. Prospective buyers are encouraged to inspect articles for sale at CVG premises where staff are available for advice. CVG makes every effort for accurate description but makes no guarantee of the originality of condition, parts, mechanical or applied components. Absence of reference to such modifications does not imply that a lot is free from modifications.

9 – Operations

CVG operates under both a Bricks and Mortar and a by appointment model. Details will be displayed prominently on the website and are subject to change.

10 – Insurance

CVG premises is a safe, secure facility with superior security in place, including dead locks, window bars, security doors and back to base monitoring. CVG maintains appropriate business insurances, but not for instruments owned by clients. This can only be arranged by the legal owners.

Instrument insurance is at the discretion of the owner, not CVG. We strongly recommend private insurance for any consigned items, even if it’s only for the period of consignment

CVG ensures all instruments are protected to the best of our ability and any handling or demonstrations are managed professionally by CVG Staff.

11 – Returns Policy

All items are sold as-is. All sight-unseen purchases have a 48-hour approval period if the goods received are not how they are described in our listing, with the exception of goods that are damaged in transit (See Shipping Policy)

Customers must contact CVG to discuss returns and we will refund your purchase price as soon as the merchandise is returned to us in the same condition as when shipped. Laybys, amplifier purchases and overseas sales are non-returnable.

The customer is responsible for all shipping, insurance and bank charges on returns. Any goods must be returned in the same condition as sent and must be fully insured.

There will be no approval period for items held in our facility for longer than 14 days from the point of purchase. The purchaser must advise us of the time of receipt of goods, and the 48-hour approval period will commence from time of receipt. The delivery time can also be verified by courier’s delivery record. The 48-hour approval period is available only for items shipped within 14 days of purchase. We do not offer any returns on overseas sales.
