Custom-ordered in black Mirotone lacquer for its one owner, this White Swallow Banjo, Serial No. DS91097SK, is an outstanding example of the master-level work achieved by celebrated South Australian banjo maker, Alan Funk. Completely luthier-made, including not only the wooden parts (neck, resonator, etc) but all metal fabrication, including the tube-type tone ring casting, extremely strong yet lighter than the flat head equivalent. A stainless-steel truss rod reinforces the laminated neck, while the lag bolts that connect the neck to the rim are screwed into a brass bar embedded in the neck heel. Equivalent in tone, volume playability to any high-end banjo, this White Swallow is a professional grade instrument and represents excellent value. The original beige-lined black hard case matches the fine condition of the banjo, and the owner’s booklet signed by the maker is in the case.
