Maton Alver 1966

This Maton single-cut 16″ wide 4″ deep laminated arch top guitar is a strong, light, resonant and versatile vintage semi acoustic. This asymmetric headstock shape features on Alvers from the second half of the ’60s, and we have correspondence with Maton confirming the pencilled Batch Number (B.168) on the interior label indicates a 1966 build The 4lbs 5oz light weight gives a lively voice acoustically and with its (Martin-style non-adjustable) steel truss rod fitted, the neck is strong and straight; action is low and frets are 95%.  The neck set, nut, bridge, tailpiece, and tuners are all in excellent original and functional condition. The original pickguard is in the original Stamford hard case that this guitar came in. Very playable acoustically, while the contemporary Gretsch fretboard-end pickup with vol &  tone controls provides very useable electric options for jazz, blues or rockabilly!
