The Regal brand name has been owned by Saga Guitars in Japan since 1987. Here we have a fine round-neck Saga-Regal Model RD-30M Studio Series Dobro, dating to the year 2000. Unlike many other contemporary resonator guitars, the construction of this model features the traditional Dobro interior round ‘sound well’, the top edge of which supports the cone. This provides the rich tone and longer sustain noticeable with this example. In excellent condition thoughout, with layered Mahagony back and sides and bound Rosewood fretboard. The previous owner professionally installed a solid-cover Humbucker pickup with vintage-style Volume and Tone controls plus output jack, making this a great gigging guitar. Currently tuned to open E, the action at 12th fret is 3.5mm low E and 2mm high E, just in the sweet spot allowing for fretted or bottleneck playing. Comes with an excellent hard case with key.
