2001 Collings MT-2 Mandolin

The Collings MT2 Mandolin is nearly the top of the heap for A-Style mandolins. Featuring a carved Adirondack top and premium grade maple for the sides, carved back, sides and neck with ebony for the fingerboard, headplate and bridge, and rounded off with ivoroid binding. This mandolin is one of the earliest Collings MT-2 mandolins with a serial number of #91 and has a Bill Collings signed label. It is in excellent condition for it’s age, and finished with a high gloss, very well done sunburst.

The tone is all there, particularly as with most high level instruments, the sound improves with age. It has a rich, brilliant tone without any sense of brittleness or harshness. The setup is perfect and plays very well. The current owner is upgrading to a Gilchrist A model hence the sale.. their loss your gain.

It comes with it’s original case which is in excellent condition.
