Epiphone set up a state-of-the art factory in China in 2004 and two years later created this Epiphone ES-335 ‘Dot’ in Cherry Red finish. Sparingly played at home and in pristine condition, this is a worthy version of the classic ‘dot’ ES-335s that have served blues, rock and jazz players for many decades.
Key features include a traditional double-bound body of layered maple, with a solid maple internal tone block anchoring the bridge and tailpiece. The neck set is perfect and the Rosewood fretboard with dot markers and frets are all ‘as new’, making this guitar a very smooth player with notable sustain, warmth and tone from its Epiphone ‘Alnico Classic Pro’ Humbuckers and traditional 2 Vol/ 2 Tone and 3-way switch electronics. We particularly like the late-’50s Gibson style soft D neck profile with 43mm (1-11/16”) nut width. In summary: a pristine Lefty 335 that ‘feels vintage’ at a very nice price, which includes its original Epiphone form-fit hard case, also in excellent condition with key.
