Southern California is the spiritual home of the Telecaster. Located there and founded in 2008 by Lance and Lisa Lerman, boutique guitar makers LSL has been creating high-quality, vintage-inspired electric guitars – especially 1950s-style Telecasters – since 2008. This Blackguard-style T-bone model with ‘Mariela’ on the neck plate (LSLs get a name rather than a serial number) is an excellent example, weighing in at 6 lbs 10 oz ( 3.03kg) and playing as smoothly as any fine vintage or custom shop example. The neck feels great in hand and even unplugged the guitar is super lively, while through an amp it easily covers the full range of sonic territory from warm jazz to chicken pickin’. Hard to put down once one starts playing it, this fine boutique T-bone Tele comes with a traditional vintage style rectangular black-with-white- stitching hardshell case, also in perfect condition.
