Sole Maton Alver Archtop Electric 1967
$1,650.00
The cool assymetric headstock and internal label ‘B (Batch) 200’ on this two-pickup Alver indicates a build date around 1967. Having identical bodies to their Maton-labelled cousins, Alvers had a lower price point with no truss rod, but the Queensland Maple hardwood necks on these are strong and this neck is no exception: straight, action is low and frets have minimal wear. The hardware, pickguard and electronics are all original and indistinguishable from other Matons of this era, the only change being vintage style Kluson tuners fitted. Both single-coil pickups have great vintage tone, and the chrome ‘gearstick’ pickup selector emerging from under the pickguard is a Maton signature feature of the late 1960s. Volume and Tone controls work correctly along with everything else on this versatile, playable Aussie vintage archtop guitar with a Rockabilly vibe. Lacquer wear to back of body and back of neck is smooth to the touch. Comes with a 1970s hard case.
