Schecter Jazz Bass c.1982

$6,650.00

Schecter defined the concept of high quality custom Fender style guitars and basses in the 1980s, after David Schecter and Tom Anderson started their operation in Van Nuys, Los Angeles. The neckplate number on this bass initially suggested to us a 1990 build, but after sending photos to Schecter we received the following:

“Thanks for reaching out.  The headstock and serial numbers indicate this was made in Van Nuys between 1979-1982.  If you have any other questions, please let me know.   Customer Service Department, Schecter Guitar Research, 10953 Pendleton St., Sun Valley, CA 91352.”

So here we have an early Schecter J-bass, in black lacquer with all its original hardware and “Monstertone” pickups intact and fully functional.  Outstanding features include the embossed Schecter tuners, incredibly dense and smooth Ebony fretboard, frets in very good condition, deep structural curves on the very comfortable body, well balanced with 9.7lb weight. Comes with its original ’80s Fender style black hard case. Please contact us for more details of this rare bass.
