1990 Fender USA Stratocaster
In 1986 Dan Smith and the new Fender team were ready to launch their first generation ‘American Standard’ Stratocaster. The aim being to restore the classic Stratocaster model to its pre-CBS quality, with some modern touches. So here’s a now 33-year-old classic Stratocaster in look, feel, pickups and tone, with a 9.5” radius gorgeous dark Brazilian Rosewood, plus refined tremolo system and bridge saddles. This guitar plays, feels and sounds like a classic Strat. It has been fitted with aftermarket tortoiseshell pickguard and trem plate but the white originals are in the case. A previous owner has opted for a TBX centre-detente tone control on the bridge pickup. Otherwise all original, plays as good as it looks, frets are 90%, a nice weight at just over 7.5 lbs, and all the classic Strat tones.
