DeGruchy J-45 style 1991

Arguably the most respected Australian steel string acoustic guitar maker of his generation, Bryan DeGruchy (1939-2016) lives on through the instruments he made.  I (Ian) first met Bryan in the 1980s when we were both living in the Adelaide hills. The Brazilian Rosewood Style 0 that I bought from him then remains very much a favourite, 40 years later.

Recently we were contacted by Eric Bogle on behalf of the original owner of this  fine DeGruchy ‘J-45 style’ made in Oct 1991, serial number 310.  With a comfortable 15” lower bout, this slope-shouldered beauty features Indian Rosewood back and sides, tight-grained Spruce top, Ebony fretboard, original frets in excellent condition, Gotoh tuners and a discreet active under-bridge-saddle pickup with strap button output jack. A truly fine example of the fine tone-woods, accurate construction, restrained aesthetics and strong, balanced voice that characterize DeGruchy guitars.  Comes with strong form-fit Hiscox case.
