Offered for the first time since the early 1970s, we are delighted to present this beautiful sunburst ES-330TD with its original case. In excellent condition, this guitar has a 1-11/16” nut width and full C- profile neck, perfectly set, with dark Rosewood fretboard and original frets in 80% condition. All hardware is in excellent original condition, as are the two P-90 pickups and (from mirror inspection) the pots, capacitors, etc. With no signs of any damage, but with a lovely patina, playability and tone, this is an outstanding ES-330TD.
It is documented that Gibson did not add serial numbers &/or orange internal labels to all ES-330s in the period 1958-61. Normally you can date the earlier guitars by the Factory Order Number (FON) stamp inside the body, but no FON is visible in this guitar. The owner originally was told this was a 1959 model, however due to the knobs on the guitar being Gold Reflectors, rather than the earlier Gold Top Hat knobs, we believe it is a mid 1960 model. At this stage we have not extracted the electronics to view pot codes (noting that these can precede the year of the guitar’s manufacture). However we can do so if requested. After a very close inspection of the guitar, and having regard to all the features of this guitar, we can recommend this very fine 1960 ES-330, with its Australian made 1960s Stamford case.
