This sunburst 1963 L-series P-Bass serial number L15450 is offered for sale for the first time since its owner acquired it in the 1970s. The ‘C’ profile neck date is stamped December 1963. With a history going back to bass player Peter Roberts in New Zealand / Australian bands the La De Das and Company Caine, the bass was meticulously re-fretted and refinished in thin nitro lacquer to match its original sunburst in 2016 by Australia’s maestro bass specialist Tom Konig. Presented with its original Stamford case and playing as smoothly as it looks, with Brazilian Rosewood fretboard and deep body contours, this P-Bass bass is very light at 3.63kg  (8lbs even).  As currently set up, the bass has lightweight tuners fitted (original tuners in the case along with original bridge, pickup cover and original pots). One-half of the original PBass pickup is a matched-output Seymour Duncan, and the original bobbin, rewound By Tom Konig is also in the case as an option. Tom also installed new CTS pots.
