1963 Fender Dual Showman Blonde

Dating from late 1963 / early 1964, here we have one of the ultimate classic Fender amps, a 100W Fender Blonde Dual Showman with its original (and rarer than the 15″ variant) 2 x 12″ cab, footswitch, & speaker cable.  This Showman came to Australia from Hawaii in the 2000’s with its original owner.  At that time a new 240V A/C transformer was installed by BJ Amplifiers in Ipswich Queensland, along with a full service on all caps, resistors, valves etc. At the same time, the cab received two specially ordered Fender 12″ 100W Eminence Special Design speakers.  Some documentation relating to the above comes with the amp. All aspects of this Showman operate as they should, with minimal noise floor, fabulous tones, huge volume if needed, and great tremolo via the original footswitch. Cosmetically the amp is in excellent condition, with no tears, bumps, major discolouration or damage to the Tolex or grill cloth on either the head as the original Victoria covers for head and cab have done their job.

The Fender Showman is often associated with surf guitar innovator Dick Dale who helped develop and test prototypes, but the model was also used in the 1960s by The Byrds, The Bobby Fuller Four, Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green,  in the 1970s by Steve Howe of Yes and even Jimi Hendrix owned an early one. If you agree with us that this amp looks sensational, just wait until you hear it: “…the Showman’s delectably thick, juicy overdrive exhibits punch and clarity amid the maelstrom. It’s a fearsome experience, and one that every guitarist should enjoy at least once.” (From “Before the 100-Watt Marshall Stack There Was the Mighty Fender Showman” | GuitarPlayer ).  Please call for a more detailed in-hand description.
