2021 Gretsch 5622
$1,195.00
If you are looking for an eye-catching, smooth playing vintage-style Gretsch at a nice price, this G5622TG Electromatic is a worthy contender. Gretsch moved production from Korea to a new state-of-the-art factory in China in July 2021. Later that year this thinline with B70 Bigsby in classic Gretsch Orange was produced. The spruce centre block in its double-cutaway maple body makes this a resonant instrument, yet able to handle plenty of high gain through an amp. Two Gretsch ‘BroadTron’ humbuckers provide classic chimey and punchy Gretsch tone.
The traditional Gretsch controls include a three-way toggle switch, bridge and neck volumes, master tone, and master volume with a treble bleed circuit. There’s nickel hardware, gold pickup bezels, a gold pickguard, and aged white binding with multi-ply purfling. The Maple neck features 22 medium jumbo frets on a Laurel fingerboard.
Presented with its good quality black hard case with key, this Gretsch is all original except for some filled small screw holes on rear of headstock from changed tuners (original Grover-style tuners now back on). Several larger filled holes on the rear of the body are a mystery but may have been experimental changed strap button locations. Note: these issues are reflected in the price. The neck/body joint remains perfect.
