Fender CIJ ’52 Telecaster 1997

If you happen to be looking for a Blackguard Telecaster that looks, feels, plays and sounds like it has come right out of the 1950s without the mega price tag, read on! Hand-picked by our vintage contact in Japan, this 30-year old CIJ ’52 Telecaster’ model is completely original, replete with attractive centre-seam 2-piece Ash body, nice soft V profile ’50s style Maple neck with original frets at 99%, and all of its original hardware and electronics, down to the early 1950s-style straight-slot screws used throughout. The original pickups have cloth wiring, indicating Fender Japan’s ‘Proprietary Custom Shop’ versions of the era; they read 8.75 (neck) and 9.17(bridge). Serial number on the neck end is O027181 indicating 1993-94 build, while as per Fender Japan practice at the time, the  bridge bears a vintage style serial number stamp as well. Unmarked apart from two guitar stand bump marks on the bottom back edge of the body.  Comes with fully functional Fender Japan gigbag as shown, but we have some used hard case options available on enquiry as well.
