Ibanez Model 691 Acoustic 1977 – LEFTY

By 1976, Ibanez was well established as a leading Japanese guitar maker. Deciding on USA’s Martin acoustics as a benchmark, for three years (1976 – 1978), Ibanez produced an exceptional all-solid wood dreadnought ‘Model 691’ along the lines of a Martin D-28. Here we have serial no. 770801, a rare left-handed example. Solid Indian Mahogany body, close-grained Spruce top with inlaid pearl binding and soundhole, Mahogany neck with dark Brazilian Rosewood fretboard and headstock overlay.  All original apart from a tuner upgrade to Levinson Sceptres and a replaced truss rod cover. No damage or issues apart from an area of playing wear near the soundhole and some lacquer wear (feels smooth to the hand) on back of neck. Truss rod is functional. With a recent new nut, bridge saddle, fret dress, re-string and set up by us, this guitar offers rich Martin-esque tones at a nice price. Comes with its original hard case also in good condition.
