SOLD – Fender Professional 8-String Steel Guitar c.1950

Here we have an unusual find: a circa 1950 Fender Professional 8-string steel guitar, the body of which has been modified at some point during its 70 year history.  The bridge/tailpiece/pickup assembly, control knobs, anodised fretboard, tuner tray/tuners and indeed the solid Walnut body on which all of the above sits, are original vintage Fender.  The outer sections of the body, the aluminium control panel plate and volume and tone pots are non-original.  There are no legs or leg fittings remaining, but these could be added back on if so desired.  It plays and sounds great as per 1950 vintage Fender, and would suit anyone looking to get into the classic non-pedal steel sound, a la Chris Scruggs, at a nice price.
