The first electric guitars that captured popular attention in Japan after WW2 were lap and console steels, and the Teisco company was a leading maker at that time. By the early 1960s, Teisco had a  wide range of steel guitars and started marketing them to the USA and UK, with variety of brand names, often based around Spanish or American themes. From that era we have this  pristine circa 1963 Teisco H-92 ‘Columbus’ lap steel; a two-pickup version in excellent original condition, with original beige gig bag with working zipper, also in Ex Cond. With two selectable pickups and Vol & Tone controls, everything works as it should and it sounds great. We did however replace the tuners, as the plastic buttons on the original set were starting to crack; a set of new Kluson style tuners are now on. A fully functional vintage lap steel at a nice price!
